Meet Axel, the giant pup with an even bigger appetite.
Axel is a lovable Great Dane who's proved that no baked good is safe when he's on kitchen patrol.

One evening, Axel's mom decided to bake two dozen banana muffins, enough to share between her own family and her friend whose kitchen had just flooded. But as the saying goes, no good deed goes unpunished.
Axel's mom left the muffins on the counter to cool before stepping out to run a quick errand. Her three kids were home, so she was sure it would be fine. Except when she returned, only four muffins were left on the counter.
Assuming her kids had raided the muffins, Mom immediately called them out. But they insisted they had only eaten three of the muffins. When Mom started to investigate, she found only three muffin wrappers in the trash. And Axel was nowhere to be found. (I'm sure you know where this story is headed...)

After a bit of a search, Axel was discovered with his head down and tail between his legs. Basically, a signed confession. Mom realized that Axel had just devoured seventeen banana muffins, wrappers and all, in one sitting.
Needless to say, those muffins never made it to the friend with the flooded kitchen. Who knows how much dog slobber had ended up on those four remaining muffins. Instead, Mom baked another batch the next day. Even now, every time she bakes muffins, Mom's friends remind her not to leave them unattended.
