Celebrating 16 years of love, laughter, and perfectly cleaned plates.

Meet Pumpkin: tiny paws, big attitude, and an even bigger heart.

Meet Pumpkin, a Jack Russell Terrier mix with a heart as big as her attitude and fur the color of autumn leaves. She may have been small, but this little lady packed 16 years of personality into every wag, woof, and well-timed side-eye.

Pumpkin, fresh from the shelter and already plotting world...or at least kitchen...domination.

Pumpkin’s story began in the mountains of North Carolina, where she was rescued from a local shelter as a tiny puppy. Her future parents were determined to find a new puppy to bring home, and their hearts were gone the moment they saw that little face and floppy ears. One look was all it took.

Her parents officially named her Pumpkin, which suited her perfectly... at least for a few days. It didn’t take long before she revealed her true identity: troublemaker. That’s when her family started calling her “Poo,” because, as her mom often said she was a “little [expletive deleted].”

Caught in the act: Pumpkin reminding her dad that sharing is caring.

Poo lived her best life as a professional snuggler and world-class plate cleaner. Her favorite job title? Chief Dishwasher. Whenever her dad put a dish down, she made sure it was spotless — polished to perfection by pure terrier determination. Baked-on food? No match for Poo’s commitment to culinary cleanliness.

She also loved walks with her mom, nose to the ground, exploring the neighborhood like it was her personal kingdom. But her favorite place of all was snuggled up on a lap, soaking up endless pets and attention.

Pumpkin passed away in 2021 after 16 years of adventures, love, laughter…and more than a little drama. I should add here that we shared the same parents. 🙂 I had already moved out by the time she joined my parents, but Poo made every visit home brighter — and a little furrier.

Pumpkin may have been tiny, but she left a giant paw print on our hearts. She was sweet, stubborn, hilarious, and a little bit crazy, like all the best dogs.
