Meet Ranger — rescue dog, expert bunny-napper, and surprise addition to the family.

Ranger’s story — at least what we know of it — started in the woods. A good Samaritan found him there and took him to a shelter… but unfortunately, it was overcrowded, and his future was uncertain. Fate (and the internet) had other plans, though. His soon-to-be dad spotted Ranger’s photo online and decided to take the kids on what Mom thought was just a “meet and greet” after work one day. Instead, they fell in love on sight, signed the papers, and came home that evening with a very furry surprise. Luckily, Mom took one look at Ranger and agreed — it was meant to be.

These days, Ranger is living his best life: part Labrador, part (probably) Springer Spaniel, and 100% good boy. He’s known for his early-morning adventures — including the time he somehow caught a bunny *while on leash* during a 5 a.m. walk. One moment, he was trotting along beside Mom; the next, he was darting around a parked car and proudly showing off his “catch.” Luckily, after Mom screamed at him to drop it, the bunny escaped with only a scare and maybe a bit of a limp. Ranger, on the other hand, felt quite accomplished.
Whether he’s pulling off surprise adoptions or surprise bunny hunts, Ranger’s motto seems to be: expect the unexpected.
Ranger’s story reminds us that sometimes the best things in life aren’t planned. They just find us when we need them most.
